Tried to clean this with Windex as resin had found it's way onto this area, seems to have ruined this plastic film.
Is it simple acetate or is it a UV type of specific film - Please help!
Contact Sprintray directly and they should be able to replace that plastic circle for you.
Thanks - I have contacted sprint ray in regards to this. Also we just tried a print and it seems to work fine without that part.
It's probably a type of FEP (Teflon) film, just like the bed liner.
I believe it's purpose is to remove any slack in the liner-glass interface. Without it, I notice more snapping when the tank dips between layers.
Moonray is sending us 2 new ones - we've been running the printer without that clear circle though and seems OK.I think it actaully a spacer of sorts - bc without it the drum and glass plate - when pushed or pressure is applied seems to cause air bubbles. Work around for us to print in the interim has been to ensure there is no air trapped and then all seems clear in order to print.
One piece of advice though - that clear circle is definately a different type of plastic then the drum - bc we damaged it by spraying windex/rubing alchol in order to clean it - and it began to disentergrate.
Huh... I've cleaned mine with 99% alcohol without any problem. It was probably the Windex that did it.
